Alamo offers residents a rural feel set amongst the countryside at the foot of Mount Diablo. Located in an unincorporated area of east Contra Costa County, it offers seclusion and tranquility. Public schools are highly regarded at all stages. Parks and trails are plentiful. Andrew H. Young Park, Hap Magee Ranch Park, Livorna Park, and Rancho Romero School Sports Field and Park feature volleyball courts, picnic and barbecue areas, open-air gazebos, and dog parks. Downtown Alamo has a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Homes tend to be large on large lots and follow contemporary and country styles. The exclusive Round Hill Country Club is a particular draw.

Transportation


Located just off I680, Alamo is ideal for commuting to Danville, San Ramon and Oakland. Although there is no BART station in the town, there is a free Alamo Creek shuttle to Walnut Creek BART taking you straight into the City. The County Connection also runs bus Route 21 which loops through Alamo between Walnut Creek and San Ramon. The town is approximately approximately a 28 mile drive to downtown San Francisco.
